Summary
Yoda’s Challenge is a CD-ROM designed to immerse children ages 6-8 years in mathematics, reading, and music activities. Players begin the game in the Jedi Council Chamber where, with the help of Yoda, they choose among six entertaining activities set on Naboo and Tatooine. Each activity focuses on a different educational content area, while allowing the player to enter the exciting world of Star Wars and interact with Episode I characters and settings.
Utilising traditional 2D animation with fully painted backgrounds, each activity in Yoda’s Challenge has between 30 and 50 preset puzzles organized into four levels designed to gradually increase in difficulty and complexity, introducing new concepts and additional variables along the way. The educational focus of Yoda’s Challenge is designed to expose users to the fundamental elements of character development; critical thinking skills; word recognition, vocabulary, and reading comprehension; early music skills; basic geometric concepts; spatial relationships and visual perception.
