Summary

The year is 2060 and the Russians are up their old tricks again. The Japanese government has hatched a radical plan to supply power to its ever-increasing population. With the aid of the East’s finest scientists, the Japanese aim to install a geothermal tap deep into heart of the earth. Everything was going to plan until a series of violent earthquakes struck Japan sinking large sections of the islands and popping the collective clogs of sixty percent of the population. As it turns out the whole disaster was engineered by evil Russian commander Admiral Dmitri Konstantin. He had tapped the Japanese project in secret, in an attempt to discover if the geothermal power could be applied to weapons manufacture.

It now essential to global safety that the Russians are stopped. The United forces decide to employ a top secret experimental subfoil known as TigerShark to clear the area of Russian activity. And that’s where you come in.

The easiest way to describe TigerShark would be as After Burner on water. You rove the depths looking for enemy subs or skim the surface tackling ships. For its year, this PlayStation game throws around the polys pretty well, creating a decent 3D playing environment. The draw distance leaves a little to be desired but graphically, the game performs pretty well. If you would like to try an After Burner-style free-roaming PSX game set in the oceans around Japan, TigerShark is your only option.
