Need For Speed 2 puts you behind the wheel of a choice of eight supercars, such as a Jaguar XJ 220 or a Ferrari F50 and blazes new trails in authenticity and driving passions, as you can fine-tune your car prior to racing to achieve optimum performance. There are six courses to conquer, plus a bonus track if you can earn it. There are also options to race on or off-road, against traffic, or in two-player split-screen mode.
Speed is the operative word here too, these high-performance motors (cue quaint Northern colloquialism) go like stink and you can really throw these cars around the track with no fear of damage. So realism isnt really an issue here, gaining positions is fairly easy, but losing positions is easier. It takes maximum concentration to perform consistently, and reach the chequered flag before your fellow racers.
