Summary

Combat epics are amongst some of the most popular genres around, particularly for PC. Myth: The Fallen Lords is the latest of these titles, new for 1997.

Myth is set in a full 3D environment, complete with 2-dimensional animated characters. Fortunately, the in-game cameras are completely manipulative, allowing for easy use of the surrounding environment. You have a number of controllable characters that can either be controlled individually, or as a group. You must create the most strategic formations for a successful battle. Bad strategy gives bad results, remember that. There is also a decent amount of realism held in Myth. For example, when you slay a foe, blood can be seen dripping from their limbs. Gross!

The are a variety of scenarios to participate in, including the hugely popular capture the flag, and King of the hill. You must be made aware of the competitiveness of capture the flag, however. Once you get a hold of the flag, you are the target, and will probably be killed in an instant. This is a great multi-player mode, and blends well with the rest of the game.
