Summary

Back in 1996 Lara Croft changed the face of third-person adventures with the infamous Tomb Raider series. Once the game’s popularity was noted, many software houses attempted to recreate the control methods that were employed. In 1998, Deathtrap Dungeon was created, and surprise, it’s a third-person adventure using the same control technique as Tomb Raider.

Deathtrap Dungeon was created by a nasty baron, and was only ever attempted by either the brave or the insanely stupid. Then along came your very own playable character, Red Lotus, a ruthless assassin, in a quest to reach the heart of the dungeon and defeat the evil dragon, Melkor. You must use a combination of the 32 strong library of weapons and spells to progress through the dungeon and evade the perilous traps that await you.

There are 18 huge levels to dodge your way through, and a bestiary of 55 AI controlled monsters blocking your passage the end of the dungeon. Also, there is a multi-player option, whereby you can go head to head with another assassin and see his head (or yours), torn off by swaying swords. Deathtrap Dungeon is a game that means exactly what it says, a dungeon with death traps. It does exactly what it says on the tin.
