With all the cool moves on offer such as parachuting and base jumping, will you be able to call your support team to get you in a plane or helicopter whenever you please so you can do reckless jumping?
CS: Reckless jumping doesn't really require help from anyone except for your own creativity. There are plenty of ways to perform really crazy stunts. I've been playing around with the stunts for over two years now and still today I can find places to jump. Today I climbed to the top of the volcano and called for a dirt bike to be delivered. I gained some speed and made an absolutely crazy jump from over 1,000 meters down to the ground.
The support team is a very good help, though. They can be used to transport you to the next mission starting point or get you a vehicle when you accidentally end up somewhere where you don't want to be.
There's plenty of scope for leaping around and shooting the heck out of bad guys, but will there be balanced missions? Could we see our hero taking on undercover espionage tasks, joining in with gangs to fulfil certain objectives?
CS: The game has 200 side missions and it would be a lie to say that you'll be sneaking around corners with three green light-bulbs on your head as seen in other games. Our motto as we developed the original concept for Just Cause was 'F*ck Stealth' and Just Cause will not feature much of strategy in a deeper sense. With the missions, you'll be doing plenty of agent stuff, everything from infiltration, joining factions to drinking Digital Daiquiris and Pixelated Pisco Sours.
As with all good operatives, we hope there'll be a female interest for the main character to get to know better? Perhaps a woman that you can use to get close to someone important to the mission?
CS: Not only does Just Cause feature really hot polygonal babes, it also features a fat army general in drag to get close to. I won't tell you in which way though. If you want relaxation you can always visit El Volcan, THE place for novelty outdoor whoring.
Just Cause has a certain hint of Martini to it. What's your favourite James Bond film?
CS: I'd say Rum and Tequila rather than Martini, but you're absolutely right. My favorite James Bond movie is probably For Your Eyes Only or Live And Let Die. Can't really decide... For Your Eyes Only for the cool variety of environments and action and Live And Let Die for the touch of Voodoo, which is always a plus if you ask me. Jane Seymour is also a huge plus for that movie.
Be honest - Batman was the inspiration for some of the hero's vehicles wasn't it? (We just had a look at one of the boats he can ride in).
CS: I really can't remember what the inspiration for that one was. I personally think it's kind of ugly...
SPOnG would like to thank Christofer for taking time out to talk to us. Thanks also to Eidos Interactive.
