Alternatively, there’s the option to acquire only the Camgoo Sixpack – which contains the game-disc but not the camera- for those who already have a webcam. But ultimately, Camgoo does seem like the sort of title that needs to be bundled with something. There’s no denying its quality, or the appeal of the concept, but a significant proportion of the market for this will already have Eyetoy Play on PS2: and for them, this game is probably best left on the shelf. That is, unless, you love the premise so much that you just want more, in any size, shape or form.

But although we are distinctly unimpressed by the fact that this is merely a weaker carbon copy of Eyetoy, it is still solid entertainment. And if you’ve never witnessed Play in full flow, you’ll still be taken aback by the ‘craziness’ of the idea. So in short, the sort of person who will even contemplate plucking this of the shelves without thinking 'Um, Eyetoy?' ought to thoroughly enjoy it. And truthfully, because more serious gamers will have already chosen the PS2 option, Camgoo’s market may well be less discerning than the average SPOnG reader: and so they may be even more pleased by what’s up for grabs than we would suppose them to be.

SPOnG Rating: C+

It is great fun, and the bundled webcam is decent enough, but if you know Eyetoy Play, then you may have had enough of Camgoo already. But if you don't have a PS2, you won't go far wrong.
