Surprise Attack Games was founded in 2013 by Chris Wright, ex-THQ Director of Marketing of Australian studios BlueTongue and THQ Studio Australia.
As THQ began its implosion in 2012, these studios were shut down leaving Chris and many talented creators looking for new work. Inspired by the independent record labels he had grown up listening to, Chris decided to create a new kind of indie games label: one that would be independent in spirit, would be closely connected to the developers it worked with and would remain small, intimate and champion the same principles that independent developers held dear.
In 2018 the Surprise Attack relabelled itself Fellow Traveller. Although Surprise Attack Pty. Ltd remains the legal name for Fellow Traveller, the name is no longer used as a label or brand for published games.
Surprise Attack's first work that SPOnG is aware of is the 2014 title, "Screen Cheat" (PC).
The company has been involved titles released on the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
The company's most recent involvement was on the 2016 release "Screen Cheat" (Xbox One).
