Sony's External Development Studio - XDev - works with independent developers across Europe and other PAL territories to publish titles across PlayStation platforms all over the world. Collaborations include studios such as Quantic Dream, Magenta, Clever Beans, Climax, Novarama, Supermassive Games and Sumo Digital, as well as the now Sony acquired Media Molecule, Evolution Studios and Guerrilla Games.
The Studio's aim is to help teams make great games, offering a variety of production and publishing services to suit individual studio requirements. As well as funding projects, XDev offers full production, project management and game design support. Titles are also supported with community management, online production and dedicated outsourcing management facilities. We work directly with our passionate Marketing and PR teams in all Sony territories to promote and publish your games worldwide.
These successful partnerships have garnered many awards and accolades, including 11 BAFTA awards, Develop Industry Excellence Awards, 12 awards from the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS).
Software Highlights from Credited Titles
XDev's first work that SPOnG is aware of is the 2011 title, "After Hours Athletes" (PS3).
The company has been involved titles released on the PSVita and PS3.
The company's most recent involvement was on the 2012 release "Smart As" (PSVita).
