You aint perfect either, you are highly abusive perhaps if you done away with such abuse I might change my tone also...

None of us is perfect and we all spout nonsense as well as making sense. I know I do...

The point is to balance the fanboyism (2%) with the opinion that we don't already know and/or with something witty and incisive.

That, ideally, is the fun of the SPOnG Forum. Having visited other sites - I really don't want SPOnG's to descend into: "Ya n0ob, Ill pwn yaw ass faggit-boy yo, yo is tooo lame i hate you. I izzle not da fanboy, innit bit my Amoooga roolz and that!"

So, balance it up... after all, you've got the bloody Editor to scream abuse at.

Oh, bugger...

The PS3 has been outselling the 360 worldwide for a long time now, and its catching up real fast in NA.

Replace PS3 with "DS" and 360 with "everything else combined" and you'll be closer to the pie with lemon sauce...aaaah pie

It's actually quite true, the PS3 has been dominating European sales over the 360, that's widely known. What is also known that the Xbox sells extremely well in the US, however, as with January NPD, we can see that the PS3 outsold the Xbox then. Not necessarily meaning that it will continue that way, but, hey, Sony beat MS on their own turf...that definitely means something.

And before we go any further, let me just say that I do not consider the Wii to be part of this discussion, as it's a step backward in gaming. Motion sensing is not anything new to the industry, it's a vastly cheaper product, that targets a vastly different audience. Imo, the gaming industry built itself upon hardcore gamers, and Nintendo has turned their backs on their fan base. But, that's just my opinion.

Continuing forward however, I think the playout between the 360 and PS3 will be a very interesting one, that will change depending on the actions of both companies. MS really needs to step up and get rid of the hardware issues. Whether they still ARE an actual issue, or just remnants of previous SKU's, is irrelevent. You cannot throw a stone without hitting an article on the failure rate of the 360, and that's particularly disturbing to a prospective buyer looking to drop 3-400 for a gaming console. The other major thing MS needs to work on is their PR in European and Japanese countries. Constant reminders to the populace of Europe over MS' continued anti-trust issues, cannot be helping their overall image and thusly sales of their machines.

As for Sony, it's pretty clear what Sony needs to continue to work on, broadening their games library, which, given this years line-up, should look very nice by Christmas. They need to get the updates to the PSN, XMB and launch Home. And they need to start pumping out the 45nm chipsets and cut the price of their SKU's just before the release of GT5P.

I think given MS' continued bad press in Europe, there's no wonder they're lagging behind most of the competition. If they were to clean up some of those issues I mentioned, there's absolutely no reason this won't be a neck and neck race this gen.
