Totally simplistic thinking. If it were the case that your average p0rn buyer was going out to Comet (or Walmart, or wherever) to say "hmm, I really need to make a deposit at the spank bank but there are only two possible ways I can do this - the PS3 or Xbox 360!" then you'd be right.

But let's all be honest about this - every guy knows where to find it on the internet and nearly everyone has a PC.

Even if you had a console which didn't play the odd filthy disc, you're not going to run down to buy the other console, you're just going to go upstairs and choke Jabba.

And actually while we're on the subject, if you're the average PS3 buyer you're not going to go into Comet and think..

"Hmm, the PS3 is cooler, everyone wants one, I can play Blu-ray, every publisher is making games for it, it'll last years, it's the most powerful machine out there..

..but I can't watch the p0rn I haven't even bought on it yet, so I'll get a 360 instead and have three separate boxes sitting under my TV."

Wow, did you read any fo the preceedign posts?

First off, that specific quote was a joke based on what the previous perosn said htat I quoted in my response.

Secondly we are discussing blu-ray -v- HDDVD, not 360 -v- PS3. Twit. I never implied pron woudl make or break a console, i implied that it is a huge decided factor in format wars historicly speaking. As for internet porn, I also discussed that so if you care to read go ahead, I'm not gonn waste my time retyping it.

Thanks for your snide comments... ohhh i get it... clever.

No you're right, you didn't imply anything. You literally stated it.

I've helpfully highlighted all the mistakes you managed to make in just one post so you can learn the right spelling for next time.

Naughty LUPOS, looking at too much HD-DVD porn instead of studying! Now go and lose the argument again like a good little boy.

Well, a few days ago I thought I made a lengthy post telling you all what to think on this subject. Must not have went though, or I hit a wrong button or something. Like most of my lengthy posts (when Im sober) I prolly took a few hours revising and rewriting it (usually only to need to edit it immidiately after posting). And I can't remember what all I wrote then. In addition, I'm not feeling as ambitious at the momement. So I'll try to keep this short.

You're all wrong.

'Course those of you who have done nothing but say "hes wrong" are worse than wrong. But thats not the subject of this post.

This post is about the 'format war' (only the second one I'm aware of) and the ps3's contribution to the war effort.

Its big. Really big. Forget the current-gen 'console war' for now, this was the reason for some of the ps3's disadvantages in that conflict. The extra expense and production troubles paid for BluRay having the holy grail of this type of conflict. Installed User Base. Think the snowball at the top of a mountain.

But for all that there are too many factors involved to make ANY snap judgements at this early date. Among them, multi-format players, recordable media, porn, inertia, possible newer formats in the near future...theres prolly more there...

I used to have a horse in this race, but I find that I don't care much at this point, though I'd feel better about the future with HDDVD as I feel Sony would likely want to delay recordable BluRay (if such a thing is even possible, I really don't know) and Sony would likely keep prices high, were they in a position to do so.

I find I'm far more interested in a 20+Gig recordable disc than in who makes it...

Not delayed at all. They are out now and have been for a while now.

Last i checked losing an argument implied that the oposing party presented a better argument. You have simply correct my typos. You should get off the debate team and head on down the hall to the english club. You can use big long words and play with other people dangling participles. It'll be a blast I assure you.
