the reason being nothing has been said about it, exept for rumors, and so called experts saying they think it will come out this year. if nintendo shows it at this years e3 then so be it, if not, then so be it. i will buy it when i can afford it, if its interesting and doesnt have other crap in it.

there is not GBA2 comming out this year. there will be no announcement about GBA2 at E3 this year.

PERIOD. OFFICIALY CONFIRMED SEVERAL TIMES.

pointing at several websites doesn't change that.

and, Nintendo is bright enough to see, that
1. DS is doing MUCH BETTER than expected
2. DS is doing MUCH BETTER than PSP (at this time, almost 1.000.000 more units sold)
3. There are MUCH BETTER games on DS comming out than on PSP
4. SONY is and will be loosing money with PSP (effort to finish NINTENDO's clear number one position with handhelds)
5. NINTENDO is MAKING money with DS and its games

so even if NINTENDO pondered release of GBA2,
they definitely realized there is no need to do that.

except for CUBE and PS2,
I still have
- few games on my wish list (REBELSTAR TACTICAL COMMAND aka old good LASER SQUAD I've played on my Speccy) REBEL and
- lot of them for my DS and
- none for PSP (reason not to buy this useless hardware for me even though it is cheap as hell < SONY really wants us to buy it and pays for it)

Well, there are no DS units for sale in the entirity of Newcastle, and there were none in Kendal when I visited relatives last week, so I'd say it's pretty damn popular here too!

Wario Ware is, unsurprisingly, the big seller with Drill Spirits the surprise second, it would seem. I was lucky- got a DS and a copy of Drill Spirits on preowned as somebody obviously got burned for spending £130...

It's very nice to hold, and very nice to use. Graphics are, frankly, amazing when seen for yourself (Metroid, oh how I love thee), to say they've been rubbished so much. Guess that's what happens when everyone keeps trying to compare you to PSP.

Looks like Nintendo have no need to fear the PSP...

I forgot you were in Newcastle, Fluff.

The thing the geordies don't know is that there is a place where you can buy DS in Newcastle but they sell the import DS. They also have it on sale at the lowest price I've seen in the u.k. Go to gbax.com to see what I mean.

It takes a moment for me to think why I want a DS and that is for games. It doesn't have to make me coffee and run me a hot bath or something. It just needs to have games.

As De La Soul once said three is the magic number. We currently have three home consoles all of which give something different. If the same were to happen when GBA2 steps into the market we'd again have three handhelds selling from two companies instead of three. Nintendo would then have an oppurtunity to clean house because they would also be beatin MS to the market just incase they have plans for a similar handheld system. (MS have said they'd like such a device but it's gone quiet on that front) Then it would be just Sony and Nintendo. Things would then get interest if GBA2 could use GC games.

By the way if you folks arent so sure that GBA2 is/isn't gonna be on the way soon, I'd suggest you check interviews with Nintendo going back a year or two. They might put your mind noodles at ease.

Would I buy another Nintendo handheld machine? Yes I would, same way I bought another Sony machine. It's not about brand loyalty it's about wanting to play games.

Maybe it was Neo, but someone said about the PSP having so many games out for it already at launch. And why do you think that is? Because PSP isn't that far from PS2 in spec. It also says to me that some developers favour Sony over Nintendo, because the games for PSP are easy to make like PS2 games, while the DS games probably take some serious thought to get past concept stage to full game. Perhaps this is why most of good DS games are out this toward the latter half of the year.

Now you would have also thought that a huge publisher like EA could have come up with something more imaginative than Tiger Woods and The Urbs for DS but they haven't. Next up from EA are NFSU2 and Goldeneye Rogue Agent. This clearly says to me that so far EA don't have a clue how to use the DS features on offer into a game properly (though Rogue Agent may change this). In comparison to PSP, EA made more of an effort. The same could also be said for Namco and Ridge Racer on both PSP and DS. You can clearly see which has been in development longer and where most of the time has gone. So much so that launch rival Asphalt GT looked better than the Namco's DS offering.

Either way it's good that Nintendo are doing well with DS. The DS game list is building up and becoming more frequent. Give it time and things will improve.

Wrong! PSP has sold 1.09 million and DS 1.8 million. The DS is still number 1 in Japan. Learn to read!

Touchy. Well anyway they are close are they not? This is still with a psp shortage and a late start.

Yes I know about that, but like a horse race one will over take another now and then. This is expected. Do be sure to report to us and show your enthusiasm when the DS is back in the lead.

Like I said ages ago the japanese public like any gaming public will decide what they want regardless of what we think. And yes even if its PSP.
