Nintendo made it this way, they got too swept up in their own hype machine and are now left with a console that once again only they will support. The problem this time is that the games they support their console with are not good enough, Nintendo fans need more then Mario and Zelda and I dont think Wii Fit and Wii Music are quite what they were expecting. As for Capcom good for them I would hate to see any of the big publishers dig a hole in their budgets while trying to capitalize on the Wii's lage but very fickle user base. The big money is in the established 360 and the ever increasing PS3, which I feel is where the most new games sales and growth will come from.

Money talks...especially now. Sure I'd love to see the Wii have great hardcore games but those that have come out didn't sell. Don't blame the publishers it is Nintendo's fault for chasing the family dollar.

Problem is its to much a casual console, its sold to familys who arent ppl who r gonna buy the next biggest game for gamers but the next family fun game eg wii fit or motion plus cos its what they want to play. hardcore gamers turn to none casual consoles for gamers games as i call em.
zelda n red steel are the onyl non casual games i have on the wii n i wouldnt re buy red steel zelda n marios are gd but its a casual console

i think capcom is smart because you talk to any gamer and they will tell you they would rather play these big hardcore games on the 360 or ps3 take a look at modern warfare the first one they remade it on the wii and it bombed but we all know how good it was on the 360

The initial Wii control system was too imprecise and to laggy. MotionPlus is better, but the graphics are not good enough.

I'd love a more powerful, high-def Wii 2 for playing House of the Dead style games on my projector. But it looks as if Sony are about to take the mantle with their new GemSphere controllers - both because the controllers look more powerful than the Wii controller, and because developers are backing away from the Wii for core games.

The problem is, we all know that Sony won't make any kind of games to take that mantle. It'll be just some WiiSports knock-offs. Anything more serious and they will risk splitting up their user-base and invoking the hardcore wrath (not that it's worth much anymore). Also, if third parties haven't managed to crack the code on the Wii, they won't magically crack it with GemWands.

The bigger problem is, third parties are going to need to jump on the Wii seriously or they'll implode into bankruptcy. The Wii is practically the sole reason the console-market knows any growth at all, on the other side you have consoles where the costs have tripled and the customer base has stagnated (referring to the quote from the Chrome Studios guy).

The Biggest problem of them all is how these processes are all happening right now, but under the radar of the gaming media, analysts and producers because of the disproportional focus on the big budget games (except if it's a failing Wii game, then everyone is all over it) and their successes, while these successes are the exceptions, not the rule.
