Wow, a lot of chaos it sounds like for Sony recently. That's exactly what I thought when I read this article that control and focus has shifted. On top of that Sony has had to cut the lesser of the two PS3 models and had to cut jobs. The biggest positive news coming from Sony is the announcement of 100 games to be released in the upcoming quarter of 2007 for the PS2, PSP, PS3 online store (pretty much PSone titles) and PS3. As you might guess the fewest titles are trickling to the PS3 and most of the games look totally uninteresting and/or are also coming out for the 360, hardly a reason to spend $600 for a PS3. The one good game that should be decent is Ninja Gaiden Sigma by Tecmo but I am almost wondering if Sony isn't rushing the development of their titles in order to catch up the massive amount of titles available for the 360.
A price cut would further confuse consumers. Sure it would be nice but personally, I would almost be expecting another one afterwards if the PS3 STILL doesn't sell and it would be a big pride blow to the Sony as they would be resorting to "Nintendo" tactics to win a console war. Although Sony has stated their system is more powerful than the 360 (I have yet to see it) a game is only as good as the developer and developers have yet to utilize the full power of the 360. So IF Sony does have more graphical potential, I suspect it will be a long time before we see it.
I am still amazed at how Sony managed to seemingly blow their huge lead in the console race. I keep waiting for something magical up their sleeve but I am coming to the conclusion that Sony's sleeve is empty.
