No s**t!
US price should be a steal. Almost free in Japan!
Worth buying as a cheap TV-based browser when Opera launches for anyone wanting to use the Internet from their sofa. Wouldn't be surprised if a keyboard launched at some point!

Spong you bellends, he's just restating something another Nintendo rep said even before E3. That Wii won't be any more than $250/euros. Christ, got me excited for nothing.

I've got nothing to add to the price debate

Because

That guy reminds me of someone. He's a look-a-like of someone and I can't quite place it.
Help me out here. Who does he look like to you?

It's now three months closer to launch and a senior exec mentions the price to Reuters.

Link.

Remember that almost every possible price has been touted for the Wii. This is latest price information we have, coming from the head of NOG via reputable news agency.

You'd be a feel to assume it was simply rehashing old information. I think what's happened is Reuters has published comments made off the record by the Nintendo man. However it happened, I'll bet Nintendo isn't happy about it.

probably, nintendo seem to be enjoying themselves milking the interest in the wii's price, and to a lesser extent its release date

spicing it up a little as we approach the final furlong with staged 'leaks' cant hurt can it ninto?

well, nothing but my nerves :D

If it was a truly off-the-record comment he might have commented a little on the launch date (even if it was his own feelings rather than company line spouting), so I think you might be right.

Soon everyone will enjoy the idea of having a cheap wii. About time too, those public cubicles really drain your spare change...

There is NO way I am paying £170 for that, its not worth that price at all, I rather pay around £130-£150 max not a penny more sorry.

With there being either a price drop for the 360 or better bundles you are better off buying a 360 say core and a game like amazon.co.uk had a while ago at £180 than a Wii!

I want a Wii I will get one but I aint paying £170 no chance.

Why the hell wouldn't they be happy? This "new" price is presicely what Iwata said months ago, absolutely nothing has changed.

Agreed.

£150 max. £170 is too much, especially considering the Jap and US prices.

£170 is a little steep considering that the 360 core is now only £199.99
