sony and ms really are scummy bastards if u think about it.
I wouldn't go as far as to brand them both "scummy bastards" - there's nothing actually wrong with taking that particular route, and there'll still be a lot more introduced to gaming as a whole than a simple tarting up of the visuals. I for one am looking forward to witnessing some great games on both machines.
Theres nothing scummy about the 360..playing on ur xbox with Live is NOT the same as playing on your X360 with Live.
The different xperience the wii contoller offers is nice for SOME games but not for all type of games.. "same old, same old" would also apply to the games on wii that u don't want to use the motion sensetive periphal with.
I don't even want to think about what it would b like to play DMC / Ninja Gaiden with a wii controller..theres just some things u can pull off better with a normal controller that won't end up driving u completely insane.

Um... at the moment, these arguments are invalid - until you try doing it, and depending on the exact method, yes, it may be worse, but it also may be better. The new controller is not inherently worse and has a lot of unexplored potential.
Also, I don't get it when people say "so, when you use a normal controller, it's no better than current games" - so what? The point is, it can play games both ways.
It's been said a billion, billion times before: graphics are good, but they aren't enough. Simple.
The Wii might have crap graphics, but that is the only argument I can think of against it; and it's not a very strong argument, since the graphics are still better than the previous generation.
I'm not even being pro-Nintendo, I'm being objective.
The other thing is (I can't find a link, because Google's being temperamental, but) I'm sure there have been quite a few cases of injuries with standard controllers in the past. So what's the big deal? The difference is, with the Wii, it's all speculation so far.
if you really think about it, all companies are aming at a specific market. I solute nintendo for thinking outside the f**king box with the WII. Even though the Wii intrests me (im excited to see how it works) but im still going to the the PS3 first. Nintendo is creating a unique system with unique gameplay possiblities, microsoft improved on xbox live, and sony has appeared to have hit in the middle. Its gameplay wont be able to be quite as good as the wii, but it has as much of a graphic opportunity as the xbox 360. I still think sony has to have really unique gameplay on its tilt remote and have good online to be successful in the game market.

This is the type of logic that I'm hopeful actual developers of Wii games won't come from. Seriously, why are so many people assuming you'll be swinging a Wii controller like a sword for the entire span of a game like Devil May Cry or Ninja Gaiden? How can you be so easily restrained after the mere suggestion of what a Wii can do for some games? "Swing the controller like a sword" and then suddenly every game you can think of that has a sword has to execute battles in that way. It's as if the A button suddenly disappeared from their attention.
It's as simple as, say, how Mario Galaxy showed it. For some action games the "A" button slashes a sword and the FHC can be for aiming a gun or grappling hook allowing for quick execution. The point is to make it more intuitive not make it tiring.
I hope you're right..I just thought the sensory option and the button layout on the wii controllers are gonna be a pain for some games ..
muscle gramps in hands by arching it when u prefer using both analogues for more precise movement in action games using the alternate "classic" controller.
The placement of the left analogue and d-pad should have been switched imo..it's better in the left corner like DC and xbox intstead of leftcenter..like dualshock
But we'll see how this develops..still some time to go before launch..then I can judge for myself

I think it's alright as it is, and probably better with rumble than tilt. The Dual Shock is symmetrical, and so are peoples' left and right hands.
I suppose that when it is the main input, it should be in the most prominent position - but then the whole ergonomics of the Dual Shock starts falling apart - like why are there two analogue sticks anyway?
I think that the fact that Sony didn't have the confidence in itself to redesign its controller, and that it copied Nintendo, says that they're looking at this from the wrong perspective.
If innovation is not the reason for launching a new console, what is? Graphics is something, but people already expect better graphics, which is why better graphics isn't enough this time.
