Surely the point of the logo is that it's a control scheme in 3D, essentially what the revolution's controller is about, control in three dimensions rather than two.
The Nintendo GO... could be anything, maybe it's the japanese name for the console? Since all the explanation is in Japanese and GDC isn't in Japan... sounds a tad too flumsy for the western market... or is having a flumsy name hip these days? aaah screw it... Xbox360 is a sucky name too.
1.- Revolution is a great name that has inspired lots of people, from analyst to all sorts of animation creators. (some of the animations I've seen made a small tear appea in the corner of my eye)
2.- I'm also a game developer and work in an independant company who's name is PixelGo . Nintendo has always been our biggest inspiration, but now there are too many similarities! (Yeah, I wish...)
Anyways, I love the name Revolution, please keep it, otherwise I... I... yeah, I'm going to buy it anyways plus all the games I can! Specially that new Smash Bros. ... hm.... I like it...
Go doesn't sound too bad to me. The logo sucks though.
I think they should have named it after the Japanese for four. If they called it "shi" it wouldn't have sold it Japan due to the connotations of death, and if they'd called it "yon" or "yo" it wouldn't have sold anywhere else in the world.
no no no no and no,nintendo this will not do at all.please tell me this is for eastern market only.
there are so many things wrong with this for use of a brand name.
its not "hard" enough, its not in your face.the word GO is too short and too soft. gamebuBE,3sixTY,sNES,revoluTION.
there all carry significant weight.GO,dosent.
hopefully this will translate ito NE5 or something.
i like the logo, but it kinda looks like a builders block from my me wee cuzin's bob the buider set. sorry nintendo...do it again.
I totally agree! The name sounds to soft when put against Xbox 360 and playstation 3. It sounds like a Toy for kids and not agressive enough. I am a nintendo fan and will certainly buy the console at release - just i cant see chavs and the normall people buying it. Its to sissy, nintendo need to learn that countries outside of Japan have a MUCH diffrent way of thinking and presieving consumer devices.
If it was a online service i think the name and logo would be very strong and would stand up well against other services like: Nintendo Go Xbox Live Playstation NetPlay Square Play Online ... they all seem to sounds similier and feel right. Again if u look at the logo then the 3 connected pads could represent players all being connected around the globe.
Im sure we will all find out in a hour or so. PLEASE nintendo - don't f**k up again >.<

It's a good name though if it's true.
