3 weeks is a looooong waiting.

It makes sence that Nintendo would show off at the TGS since some next-gen games of third parties will be shown there with hints from the makers that they are very intrested in the Revolution (like the Sonic game).

Offcourse...Nintendo never had a big show at TGS, only some exec talking a bit about gaming and Nintendo's roll in it.

Then again the time is nigh to show off for the X360 is coming and no one can stand the waiting no more, GIVE US SOME CRUMS YOU BASTARDS!

Can't wait... although I'm sure it'll be a letdown.

I expect that the secret will be out before the Iwata keynote. Nintendo is briefing key media so we can go live with the news at the point the address is made. I reckon we'll know what the Revo is a few days, perhaps a week beforehand.

Also, it's not a secret at Nintendo anymore. They have briefed staff right down to less senior people in Europe - That means thousands of people have been briefed in such a way. So it might leak out even sooned...

Isn't it a bitch that my trip to Japan happens to be between September 1st - 9th? XP

Still, I get back to Blighty a whole week before the shenanigans happen, so I guess that's some consolation. If I was going during the week but couldn't get in (stupid Svend didn't take advantage of the press pass - purely because he originally planned on going to Japan in August instead of early September... :P) that'd be even more gutting.

Can't wait. But as Adam's said already, I reckon silly Nintendo fanboys (and even Nintendo themselves) could have overhyped this thing a little too much. I don't really want to think that, but I'm ready for a disappointment if it happens this time. =P

Wow finally some kind of reliable source has posted a date for when the rev secret is to be shown not no stupid blog somewhere

I've skipped around my usual morning blog trawl. From the rehashed Digg post blogs to the likes of Engadget, they all, without fail, start their postings along the lines of "The hardly reliable SPOnG says", "Take this with a truckload of salt" or "ever reliable Spong". Even Engadget says "SPOnG can be a little irregular in the credibility department". Best one yet was that SPOnG is "un-credible". ROTFLMAO.

What the f**k is that all about? Have I missed something? Is there something to it, or is it the wonder of the blog/forum network self-reinforcing one man's opinion? You know how it is - you read it once and suddenly you know all about it. Richard Gere and girbils, blah.

It's odd because I was thinking about this very thing yesterday as Sept and October are the most free months before the hectic xmas rush. Nintendo have been absent from TGS for a while so I suppose it's good to see them back there again.

I think it's also commendable of how they have kept a lid any leaks when MS had a major problem with it (remember those pics of the lil yank kid showing off his dad's 360 to get his net/street cred?).

I can understand why some are half excited and half down beat but have a little faith and hope Nintendo deliver. Give Nintendo they same chance you give others like MS and Sony. Then we can poke topic holes in it afterwards.

Engadget did it - Everyone else in the world of Internet journalism - just copied. Thig is, look at the piece. It links out to our news about the Iwata keynote at GDC. We ran that weeks before and it was 100% on the money. It wouldn't be hard to look at the site and think, SPOnG interviews Iwata, it has 100% information on what is GDC keynote will entail and now claims this - Perhaps they're right...

The only big moan about SPOnG reliablity comes from Xbox Resident Evil 4. I was shown marketing literature by a first-party that specificaly mentioned the Xbox SKU several times. If it was pulled for any reason, that's life.

I'm not sure what people have been expecting from the new controller... I've always been keen on the idea of gyros, if only cos it'll make fps's a damn sight more intuitive on a console than they are the moment. Also, they'd be killer in a new version of Pilotwings, the last of which I heard had been farmed out to Factor 5 for GC or Rev development. I want shoot at moustachioed metal men from a gyrocopter again...

I'm not sure why everyone complains about Spong's reliability. I've read stuff on here weeks before any where else. For example the 360 tag I saw here weeks before any where else.

Oh man, who cares about what the controller is going to be/look like??

I mean it's cool that sp0ng (as usual) gets the info first, that's why it's the best but in the end it's not going to make a difference. I'm more interested in seeing how the Revolution (or whatever they decide to call it) won't do worse than the Gamecube since mature rated games seem to be really hitting their stride with gamers more than they ever have. More than ever it's an M-Rated gamers world out there and Nintendo is falling dangerously behind.

And yet here we have Nintendo still giving us this same old speech of "we make games for everyone, not just the hardcore". Yea, I think they have it backwards. How many adult-oriented games have they created compared to the same franchise's they've been spitting out since the NES? It's obvious that Nintendo has done and will continue to do nothing to accomodate older gamers. That's why the Xbox has sold more units despite it's almost non-existent presence in Japan.

One would think that with all the money they make on garbage like Pokemon Colleseum 16, Mega-Man 54 and Mario Party 77: Search for the Golden Anal-Beads (don't forget their simultaneous counterparts on three different GameBoy's) they would have more than enough money to invest in new mature-based franchises for Idunno, the rest of us over the age of 11??

The only reason I'm so adamant is because they've been telling us with a straight face since the last 3 or 4 E3's that "they're all about the games".

Oh and what games would that be? The 50 iterations of Mega-Man and Mario Party or the original M-rated games that never come? Hey, how about another Gameboy?!
