If Nintendo can actually pull this thing off without alienating themselves, they deserve an even higher position in the record books and recognition and respect from non-Nintendo fanboys.

Wow, and what a revolution that would be… a real 3d perspective to truly immerse you into a game. I was a little skeptical about the gyroscopic controllers, but if Nintendo can pull this off it will really change the way we play games. Good job on the scoop spong! This is 2005! Where are the flying cars and such? Nowhere to be found… but if Ninty is successful virtual reality will become the norm and we’ll be one step closer to that future.

Well stereo 3D doesn't necessarily need glasses anymore, although that would be the most accesible way to implement that feature but possibly the worst too.It could be that the software will display this way for those who have autostereoscopic LCD screens.(explaining the PC monitor support) and those have an angle of 120 degrees for proper stereo viewing.I've played on Huge Autostereo screens in the past supporting D3D real time stereo conversion a great experience indeed!!! I expected the first xbox to support that feature but i guess it was still early back then.

as for the cinematic gaming etc, many of us remember nintendo's Yamauchi saying that he was interested in cinema, this might not only mean a metroid movie for nintendo.

Considering I just saw a gallery of lackluster Madden 2006 screens that look almost exactly like Madden 2005, despite being next gen, this has me almost completely floored. Just the idea that Nintendo could be planning that is amazing.

If this is true, the ammount of people who will call it a gimmick will be outrageous. Just as with the touch screen on the DS though, it should prove to be less a gimmick than an innovation.

I don't think that this would be considered a gimmik - it will be stunning if it works out.

Actually, I had bets on the DS using a 3D screen while it was unannounced.

I'm not really looking forward to Nintendo's E3. This could totally change the way we play games.

EDIT: I bet you 1p we'll see somthing similar with GBA2. It can play Gamecube discs. 3D technology already been done on GC. Could do everything the PSP can do and more.....

actually i saw an article on ign about that madden comercial, aparently it is one of those, "artists representation" of what the system should be able to do, but now that they have the newest dev kits they think that the game should actually look better than those images.
but who knows.

here it is

Well I hope Nintendo don't bail from E3 and go all shy on us, we know they have done this kind of thing before in previous years. Come on Nintendo hang in there.

Yes, those potential features sound very interesting and indeed could change gaming again. It would be very nice if this were to happen because something is needed to break the cycle.

I'm glad about the wireless pads as standard, I also suppose it would be sweet if they were gyroscopic to some degree.

E3 2005 is gonna be very special indeed (if they are there that is).

The problem though, is backwards compatability. This machine is going to have to be so incredibly versatile and amazingly well thought out. Think about it, the Revolution could be a polar opposite of itself meaning that it functions on two completely opposite levels.
Hardware wise it seems as if Nintendo is getting their act together, but the problem is in order for technology to become industry standard, it must be implemented by the leaders in that field. Nintendo hasn't been the leader in the video game market for the past 10 years.

Here's hoping they finally understand that developers are their friends!
