It's not exactly the music industry that are behind it. The name Rocksmith is a registered name to a band from the southeast of England, and it is as far as I remember, the drummer who owns the name (may be wrong about that) and he has started the legal action against Ubisoft using the name and quite rightly too as they have been using it for around 8 years now.
