Its just a game you're not actually killing people just take it easy and think about the way more violent things in life just because you simulate a terrorist attack doesn't mean you're ready or you can even do the real thing besides you're not going to hear about this happening in the news because of modern warfare 2 Its just a game
I think there are movies that show just as much and even more brutality. Is it because it's called a "game" and "games" are meant for children we think that this is made to turn our kids into psychos? Violent films are just as accessible if not more than violent games like this.
I think the fact that this slaughter takes place in an airport security que is even a lesson to a few of the half-wits that have orchestrated our current transportation security system. So more good could come from this than bad if the TSA took a look at this and see what a waste of everyone's time and money they really are.
Is this about violence, is this about borders, is this about lessons ...
Take it for what it is. This game will sell as the entertainment and some would say 'art' that it is. A form of expression in a violent society. Whining is not going to do a thing about it - try to focus on something good you can make of it.
I have to give IW credit for having the balls enough to do this. But for some reason all of the haters of this level think that it is different from say, GTA 4, or Saints Row, or any game where you can kill civilians. Also, this thing could never happen in real life. They walk in with machine gun. MACHINE GUNS. After 9/11 this could never happen with all of the scares and uptight security. THis just shows the brutality of terrorism, and IW gives you that first hand. This is war, and they arent sugar coating it. But at the same time, this isnt so different than the United States army killing 500,000 Iraqi children when we were in iraq.Anyone who has a problem with this is a wuss, and a hypocrite for thinking this is "the worst thing they have ever seen."
Since I understand french. You're an undercover American working for these guys. You're doing this for the greater good (according to your orders). He pop a bullet in your head saying:
''This will give them a message'' *shot's him in the head* ''The American's thought they could fool us...''
The problem is that it DOES happen in real life, and that infinity ward is making a mockery of real world scenarios that DO happen. They aren't justifying that THIS IS LIFE, THIS HAPPENS, they are justifying a plot in a fictitious videogame. As an avid gamer, I still take issue when serious matters are treated with the utmost disrespect, and get away with it because they market to idiot Americans who have never seen anything past a dog getting hit by a car in real life.
You are an undercover spy inflitrating a terrorist cell AND YOU HAVE A CHOICE to skip or play that particular scene. Some people need to shutup and just play the game or dont buy it, there MUST be a Marilyn Manson concert somewhere you can boycott. I've seen so many movies where helpless people are brutally murdered, where are the outraged citizens then?
People should do a little research before coming to the conclusion that you ARE a terrorist.
You are an undercover American spy that infiltrated a Russian terrorist cell in France, and at the end of the mission you are killed by the cell leader. This doesn't make killing civilians any better but it shines a little light on the subject. I wont mind playing it, it is disturbing and I probably wont even fire my weapon but its not going to cause me to boycott IW. If IW needs to be boycotted for anything its for leaving out Dedicated servers on the PC version, custom maps/mods are my favorite part of MW.
Its funny though, nobody had a problem with blowing the head off of women in Fallout 3. I guess if its a semi-fictional setting (I say semi because its Washington DC)that ISN'T in an airport (seriously people, I was saddened by 9/11 too, but those kind of tragedies happens almost everyday in other countries) its not a problem.
Notice the fact that by comparing this to grand theft auto SA, you can do lots more violence than this against anyone, not just civilians, you get what I'm saying...
Always liked IW work, I played all the CoDs (practically) MW was my fav (finally weapons that exist today, not the same old 1 shot german rifle WOOT!), this one looks even better.
Aye, it's a game, still, all the CoDs have been made to give people a taste of the fact that war is bad. Unfortunately, as long as it's not on your porch and it's in a country you can't even locate geographically on the map, it's none of your business. IW invades your safe-zone with something absolutely not safe for them.
I gotta admit, playing on pvt servers kept me from buying most of the games, but this one, just for the courage IW showed, I will get it.
To think they will have to deal with people like Swharzenegger (the Governor, not the actor that killed EVERYTHING in movies such as Terminator, Conan and such... ) in their home country is an incredible act of courage.
Also, as many other people already said... Remember Braveheart final scene? He was being tortured to death, the fact you do not see his guts doesn't mean the scene wasn't there. Or would you prefer the Bruce Willis "Die Hard" series? Just cause he is funny, it doesn't mean that the people on the plane aren't going to crash. Want me to go on? Matrix? Boh, even the old Indiana Jones could be called a mass murderer, the fact he was killing "the bad guys" doesn't really mean that much.
Also, I think the US government would love to have people inside the opposing factions, even killing innocent people, just as long as they know beforehand when they are coming to kill Americans.
Seriously, for some things US is a gorgeous, amazing place to be envious of, for others, even my small Italy with his psichodwarf Berlusconi looks more appealing!
