Played this last night, and I was quite amazed.

Basically, it IS the PC version. I was expecting a valiant port, as, normally, console versions of PC games have a flat, dull feel to them.

But the graphics are about the same as the PC version when all medium settings are turned on. The physics are the same - no dodgy substitute . There's a bit of slow-down, but I got the same on my mid-powered PC. And the enemies (so far) behave in the same, smart way.

The only slight disappointment is the lack of any multi-player option, but then it would've been delayed even further (and Xbox owners have already got Halo 2 online). And the pad will never deliver the same accuracy as mouse+'board, but the implementation is about as perfect as possible; think Halo quality.

Overall, Valve has done an amazing job - almost the impossible - considering the Xbox is a low-powered PC with a 4 year-old graphics card.

So, my recommendation to anyone with a piss-poor PC and an Xbox: Just get it.

I heartily agree mate. It's a cracking port, and the control system is spot on - in fact, I actually prefer the control pad for the vehicle sections and for the way they've implemented the weapon selection.

Greatest game ever for me...
