Just about the only title that appealed to me from next-gen (gameplay wise, and this pretty much just means XB360 stuff seeings as it's the only nextgen console on the market and not displaying somewhat 'ambitious' promo trailers for games *coughPS3cough*) was Perfect Dark Zero.
And after having a little fiddle on that in the SPOnG office a month back (and playing a bit more the other day on my brother's brand new 360 - of which he has played religiously since purchase) I can't say I was totally impressed. I was honestly more impressed with playing Smash TV and the XBLive service.
As mentioned, there has to be a few prime titles that are absolutely must-haves before I invest. Having said that, Condemned and Full Auto look almost reason enough. Mind you, I can't say I'm one for constant FPS' and driving games and the like (I'd say Burnout and Outrun's where I stick by).
We don't know anything about PS3 yet really, and we don't know anything about Revolution. PS3 by all rights should be getting more attention round forums like these because of its sheer marketing and hype machinery. Funnily enough though, when a new console's concerned, most voices speak Nintendo.
Not that I'm biased one way or the other, just a mere observation. I'm likely to get a Revolution anyway because it's likely to be cheap, and with recent announcements has an automatic back catalogue of thousands upon thousands of games.
The reason, in my opinion, that PS3 isn't getting much talk in the forums is related to what Itawa said: We're starting to tire of the same old same old.
There should be no shock about Oblivion selling big, and we should expect that title to be one of the first big console-moving games for the 360. It's different (aside from Morrowind) than most games. The fact that you need a beast of a machine to properly play it may help the 360, as it may be cheaper for some people to pick up the console rather than upgrade their PC.
Honestly, I can't think of any PS3 games other than Killzone 2. Not that I paid much attention though, as I don't have a PS2, but I have the original xbox and a 'cube. I think most people have their minds made up that the 360 and PS3 will be roughly the same graphics and game-wise. They already know if they'll get one at some point.
The Rev is so different from the others, and potentially much cheaper, so people are considering picking one up because it WILL play different style of games, rather than promising something different, ala 360 and PS3.
Also, Nintendo seems to be braking the walls of moderate fanboyism with their HUGE back catalog, what real gamer doesn't want a cheap way of downloading all those classics (Sin of Punishment wil finally be MINE!!!) and playing them in the comfort of your couch instead in front of your monitors with a keyboard.
