...and I detect a just little irony in Vault's comment.
Translation: given that you're playing only Nintendo games suggests that you're a loyal Nintendite (i.e. fanboy). Many a Nintendite has a unexplained affinity with Rare, possibly explaining your near-rabid posting.
I'm definately looking forward to Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, and hopefully something from RARE.
Pardon my putting a downer on proceedings, but is there any particular reason to look forward to something by Rare? The company hasn't made any truly great games post-N64 that I'm aware of, and thus I don't feel that their previously good reputation is justified anymore.
WTF!!!!!!!??????????!?
Reason? REASON??? RE... did he just... REASON????????????? Pardon me but since when do people have to give a reason for their opinion? If he likes RARE then he doesn't need to explain why unless he feels the need to do so! How you plan on challenging someone's opinion is beyond me.
Excuse me, but when trying to portray me as a fool, you may not wish to abuse punctuation as much as you have. Here's the deal: Rare is no longer officially part of Nintendo, and it hasn't been for a good while now. Their GBA games are coming out because they are contractually obliged to finishing them. The main parts of the team split off to form Free Radical and another team that I can't remember the name of.
Now, knowing that they are no more likely to do a DS project than any other Microsoft-owned developer, are not the same as they once were and have had a questionable track record for a while now, I was merely asking why the poster was still holding out hope when it came to the prospect of a game by Rare. I'm not attempting to change his opinion or deride it, I'm simply curious as to why he holds it.
The ironic thing is that you have challenged me over my opinion that a game by Rare is not worth holding out for.

I didn't challenge your opinion, I challenged the fact that you were challenging his/her opinion! You could've just said something like "I don't think RARE are doing very well at the moment but if you do then that's fine by me". He was saying he wanted RARE to release a game for the DS, not that there would be one. So why waste your time posting that?

If I was a fanboy then I wouldn't own a PS2(read the sig). Nor would I wish for an Xbox(I have played it though). And that "near-rabid posting" was opinion matters. So whoever that is coming from, get your facts straight next time!
Why waste your time defending the magnitude that Microsoft has ruined another fine game developer? I'd be playing Nintendo that much more* if Rare was still making GOOD games for it.
*More indicates only one extra hour each week, but that's that much more cuddle time me and my Ninty get each week and that'd make her happy. Her name is Pixelina and she likes bananas. At least I think she does, she doesn't stop working when I jam on in the memory card slot during rounds of Monkey Ball.

A waste of time would be posting your suggestion. I was not challenging the opinion, but asking the reasoning behind it. It's a fairly logical concept: if you hold a belief, there must be some kind of reasoning behind it (even something as simple as "I like the colour of the logo"). I was merely curious as to why Rare was still a top developer in his eyes; did he enjoy Grabbed by the Ghoulies, or did he consider it a mere performance slip in the Rare performance record? There's a multitude of reasons why someone could be excited, and I was interested as someone that is not excited to find out why someone would be.
Notice that I asked if there was a reason ("...is there any particular reason..."). Please also notice that I clearly made it known that my position on the matter is an opinion ("I don't feel that...). If I had posted your suggestion, I would clearly not have made a request for the reasoning behind the belief that a Rare game for DS is something to look forward to. I wouldn't have gotten the information I wanted to know, and thus would completely have wasted my time.

The word on here is supposed to be bananas. It's just not funny without the words bananas.
I'm currently very worried about the release schedule, or lack of one; anyone know what games are due out this quarter? Does anyone know of any games beyond the release ones and the far future ones?
It's not a good start. Then again, see above for PSP; apart from launch titles, the only games to stick in my head are MGA (or is that launch?), Bleach and GT.

Has it ever occured to you that he just likes the quality of the games? And he doesn't have to give a reason on why that is just because you don't like them.

Reading helps.
Asking if there was a reason behind their opinion isn't an opinion though. That's just showing that you think their opinion is wrong. You could've just stated that you didn't like RARE's games much. You didn't have to say any of that "Is there a particular reason" crap did you? You should just accept that you're not the only one with an opinion!

*Sigh*
Well you see, there are these things called opinions...

1. Rare's games suck. Whether or not they're on Nintendo or Microsoft their games suck. Because of this, even if Rare were developing for Nintendo the quality (or lack of) of their games wouldn't change. Nintendo has a lot of excellent games, and this generation Rare is a company they've done well without.
2. The DS doesn't have any killer games on it at the moment. However, in the future I think it's line-up is more promising than the PSP. We have some games from Square Enix, Another, Yoshi and several other interesting titles.
3. I don't own anything other than a Gamecube. The reasons are: - There is not a single game I think is good on Xbox. - I would get a PS2 for Final Fantasy, however I'm not paying a substantial amount of money for a few games. - At the moment, the PSP doesn't have anything unique about it.

Really? Hmm... I can see that I'm currently playing Nintendo games, but fail to see any humour. Please explain.
