So how did you guys get the image of your avatar?

and yes, Tim, your avatars gams do look a bit on the girly side, particularly those shapely calves...

SPOnG's avatar looks like Gay Halloween with Kings of Leon or Vince Noir in Howard Moon's clothing. Tim decided that it should look like that, 'nuff said. Tee-hee!

Eh?

Deliberately misquoting people is neither big, nor clever. It's a hat. A hat favoured in Canada!

You'd never make it in Canada. You would die of a frozen brain and bears wouldn't even bother to eat your corpse. They wouldn't even piss on it, because they wouldn't want other bears to think it belonged to them.

Mark, stop doing drugs at work.

I'm going to send a cadre of inept moose assassins to eviscerate you in your sleep. I'll tell them to make it messy.

Secondly, I honestly don't remember the last time I saw you in a hat (of course, as I am going blind, that means very little).

The blindness doesn't bother me so much. The fact that you recently took this picture and a dozen hundred similar, however...

The expression is simply because I am ugly and filled with hate.
The red face is not chap and wind-chill. It's because I drink too much.

The hat, however, is simply a hat.

That is a neccesa-hat and as such it does not count. It was freezing, raining, high-up and generally unpleasant. I've yet to see you sporting a David Bowie Fedora, a baseball cap, a bowler or any other kind of headwear that would suggest that hats are 'dear to you'.

I'd probably say the same if I was trying to wheedle out of having said something like, "I honestly don't remember the last time I saw you in a hat" before being presented with a photo, that I had taken less than a month ago, of the subject of that assertion wearing a hat

I have several beanies, a Che Guevara style beret (complete with star), innumerable baseball caps and a cowboy hat. Most of which I wear when I am skateboarding or socialising.... which may explain why you haven't seen them.

Or it may be your (demonstrably) poor memory that is a fault.

The fedora, alas, went years ago.

Where's a recent photo of you wearing any of your list of titfers then? Excluding times of necessity such as being on top of the tallest peak in the UK.

The only photographs taken of me in the last 18 month are by you, when we are atop mountains.

The idea that I need to wear a hat in such circumstances, however, is pure speculation.

Gibson using the term "meshbacks" as a derogatory slang for his white trash of the future kinda poisoned that well for me permanently.

don't think I recall that one but the last Gibson I read was Idoru or Virtual Light. iThink Idoru was the later so it was probably that. What have I m issed?

Chia had complained to Hester that the caps made them both look like meshbacks.

-Don't be racist, Chia.
-I'm not.
-Classist, then.
-It's a matter of aesthetics.

I also quite agree with the sentiment...it is a matter of aethetics...
