Hey, I'm not here to rain on someones parade of a truly classic Capcom game. I a big RE fan and I have plenty of love for Capcom and their games. Ibuki is my post avatar ,just for the SF 3rd Strike respect.

Yeah I love my RE4 and enjoyed every moment of it, straffing or not. I find that in many regards everyone expects straffing just because its usually a given. RE4 was never really meant to be a dedicated FPS.

I feel that Halo series is cool but when so many games like this have it, it can make a game become to easy and in some respects spoil them altogether. Straffing is also easier to do with two analogue sticks when GC has one (the other is the cam but might be adjustable if the developer chooses to use it maybe).
Add the fact that japanese don't really play FPS games and you'll understand why RE4 is the way it is, so more people can play it, and thats why it's sold loads worldwide and still is one of GCs best selling titles.

Buy the game, its worth it but watch the vids if you must.

I don't miss this in RE4 at all... See below for why.



Here's an interesting thing: I cannot control games that use two analogue sticks.

This means that to me, Halo, all the James Bond games and pretty much every console FPS out there are beyond my reach. Not to mention the fact that Halo is one of the most over-rated games in existance; it's a bog-standard FPS, dammit!

I love games like Metroid Prime and RE4. They have an accssible control system that everyone can use. If you like the two analogue sticks, then you can readjust and still play these games easily. If you can't control with two analogue sticks, then you can just pick up and play these games.

Don't forget that there are still people out there who can't use the two-stick system - it's just not simple enough.



Yup, totally agree. RE4 GC rocks.

For my moneym the control of RE4 was a bit s**t, but got away with it becuase, for the first time in the series, you weren't in tank mode, which for RE fans was a massive blessing.

You should think yourselves lucky.

It's a shame those links have died though. :(
