Whatever floats your boat. But there will always be a special place in my heart for the 9-Pin D-Sub, the controller socket of coice throught the eighties, from the humble Atari 2600, to the mighty Amiga and Megadrive.
Speaking of Future, which I know we weren't, Danny Wallace, one time Sega Power games bitch, but now internationally famous author/cult leader is in the SPOnG office today.
If any of you haven't read his book, it's available from here.
This forum thread gets a mention in this week's MCV's back page "off the record" section.
And here it is:
I'm a bit concerned about the mention of the "Weekly enmployee quiz" which sounds like a dire institutionalisation of a thing I started when I was at Future, called the Amiga Format Heathers Lunchtime Poll.
Each day (but sporadically, with occassional long gaps), we'd ask a provocative question to an invited "panel" via email, then we'd anonymise the replies and broadcast them with the next day's question. It made for some VERY interesting reading - empowered by the strict (and VERY serious) vow of anonymity, people were prepared to reveal allsorts of things. And because Futture was more of a family in those days, everyone knew and cared about everyone else's business. It was kind of like the Waltons, but with a strong publishing slant.

A virtual girlfriend? Interesting. Can I put my "Joy-Stick" in your "Rear-Socket"?
