Time for some Honesty

I've seen quite a few posts on other forums where Sony loyals have felt they have been pushed too far and are now going to buy a 360. Arguments beeing that PS3 & 360 games are not gonna look any different and PS3 exclusives are making there way to the 360 so why wait and pay the extra to a company that f**ks over its loyals

If you was holding out for the PS3 Pre-delay, are you now considering one (or both) of the other two?

Because;
1. It might actually be bloody good, you know?
2. I don't wait for the console, I wait for at least 3 must-have games

There are none that I know of, but then, I don't put much weight behind previews, reviews, PR hype and videos. I see a game that looks interesting, then wait until I can get my hands on a game before I make up my mind that I must have it!

Rather than a console from Microsoft, who have repeatedly f**ked over everyone.

Yup, better wait for Sony than help the whole console market be "f**ked over" by Microsoft - very well put. Either that or you could wait for a Wii.

Well, I'm certainly getting a Wii. I was wondering if I'd get both Wii and PS3 with the launches seemingly so close together. Now I have no reason to skip the Wii.

I'm still waiting for a PS3 since I don't see that much on the 360 that appeals to me that I can't already play on my PS2. Although Dead Rising looks like it will be loads of fun.

OTOH, Heavenly Sword looks like an updated version of God of War, Motorstorm looks like real fun, Assassin's Creed looks excellent and Warhawk might be a laugh.

Like config, I try to wait for three solid games that I will enjoy that I can't get on my existing consoles before I get a new one. Or I may get the console at launch if I know I'll be up to three games after a couple of weeks.

But has either of you played any of those upcomming ps3 games? Do you really not see anything in the comming lineup for 360 that peeks ur interest as much as motor storm and warhawk? I played both, and they are quite nice, but neither is worh 600. HEavenly sword does indeed look awsome but assassins creed has been confirmed for 360.

I personaly want a ps3 cause its bad ass and im a sucker for highend anything... but at this point if it really is about the games, the 360 has an obvious edge and a fair number of awsome looking games comming out, most probably before you could even get a ps3 in the UK.

The 360 has the problem of something i like to call Halo-hype... the fact that MS hypes every little (timed) exclusive they got to "BEST GAME EVER888811111!!!!" and afterwards the games clearly aren't killer apps but games that deserve a decent C+ or B-, maybe B+.

This is something some here are (at a conscient or subconscient level, pick your litter gentlemen) aware of, what explains the "sure X360 has good games but no real killer apps" mood. And it's true...

The Wii on the other hand is a example of prime Nintendo hype in it's purest form being... let the press/Nintendofans hype it up for us! (however with the coming of Reggie i have the dark feeling Nintendo is moving into a MS and Sony-esque kind of hot-air hyping).

Fair point on the hype thing. I myself have been burned by MS trust a few times. (curse you brute force!).

I for one am also on the "definitly going to play with a wii this x-mas" bandwagon, so no arguments there.

however this was mainly a discussion between gettign a 360 or waiting for a ps3. So far the only games lined up for PS3 that people can trust are metal gear and tekken. Everything else comming out moderatley soon is pure hype from sony. And while i don't think MS are innocent in the missrespresnting facts category, sony seems to PWN! the top spot as of late.

What i wonder is why these two are willing to wait for a ps3, claim its because they are waiting for like 3 good games, and seem to know that the ps3 will have 3 good games come launch but the 360 wont in the same time frame.

Gears of war is huge on hype, but its also an epic game, published by MS. I trust epic to make a good game.

Mass effect is a bioware game, published by MS. I trust bioware to make a good game.

Too human is a silicon nights game, published by MS. I trust silicon nights to make a good game.

Supposedly all three of those should be out by or soon after the uk release of the ps3.

Shooter, hack-n-slash adventure, super huge RPG. Plus, oblivion, project gotham and dead rising are already here and a blast. And many people love chrome hounds and enchant arm, just check penny arcades ravings about both. I trust them and I have a bunch of friends who also love chrome hounds.

I know Tyrion and config's game tastes arent necesarily the exact same as mine, but can you really not find 3 very tempting games in the 360 lineup?

Totally agree lupos, those games you mention are my 3 must haves together with Forza2 and Call of duty 3 & Halo 3, the previous where PGR3 Call of Duty 2 & oblivion.

I don’t feel shafted by MS at all, maybe its me being blind or cant (blacked out?) remember but from my point of view, M$ have done what I was expecting of them.

They hype exclusives that may not be AAA but I just don’t buy them, + they give you the option of trying before you buy on XBLM!! that alone has saved my the odd £40.

I also understand where you’re coming from with the 2 PS3ers saying about going for a console with three must haves. The 360 has "must have" games and will have more, I do think in the majority of the cases its more to do with brand loyalty. Don’t forget there's a whole generation or 2 of Sony loyals that bought into the brand as opposed to the games and change is a hard thing.

Me? I’m not loyal to no one and prefer to buy for the games - I started out on arcades, Atari, mastersystem, nes, snes and megadrive, saturn, dreamcast, PS1 - PS2, N64 gamecube, bla bla bla - s**t i done it all. but with each new gen now its getting more and more pricey and I’ve gone from a kid to a married father of 2. But I will always play games...

I'd also put Lost Planet on that list. Didn't think i'd like it but the E3 DEMO was wikkid.

Although I'm not really that insterested in Too Human...

This for me has changed over the last two weeks after bagging a 360 from a catalogue. Now I have one, I only have a Wii and PS3 to buy next. Looks Like a Wii, 360 and DS xmas at my house.

I'm gonna wait for the price of PS3 to drop before I buy one anyway so I won't be buying til the end of 2007 atleast. I know it will have good games though, regardless of the countless f*ck ups Sony pull off.

I’d get one despite feeling that Sony have turned into the anti-christ but I simply am not interested in blu-ray and the games I’d want on PS3 I can get on 360 (or very similar) Price is only a problem for me as in having to tell the wife...

I really do feel that Sony are using there massive loyal fan base by pushing blu-ray into homes. Don't get me wrong I understand that at the end of the day it’s a company and they want to make money but its still serious piss taking.
