Whats you'r fav game of all time? Is it a Nes classic, or the latest PS2 game. PLease say why u reckon the game is better than anything else out there.

Ill start the ball rolling. My fav game has to be Metroid Prime 2. The graphics are amazing, the plot full of twists and suprises, and it features the most involving gameplay ever.

Also try to name your fav console.

Mines N64 by the way

Technically Legend of Zelda is a Action-Adventure RPG, a genre thats actually very rare because most Zelda clones are more RPG and far less adventure while Zelda heavily leans to "the open world that has so many hidden stuff" concept.

Goldeneye should also be included. The father of console-FPS as far I am concerned and still unbeaten because it's so polished, has so much finesse, details and you can strafe decent without your view flipping to the ceiling or floor.
Halo is a step back with that hideous dual analog system, PC-version was fun though.

Firstly to Cloud, FFVII is a good and cool game but best rpg ever, I don't know about that but I wouldn't say so. You really have to look at FFVI if you wanna play a better FF game, regardless of it's 2D perspective.

Another thing is that in the japanese rpg arena especially Square and other jap developer made a lot of other games many of us never saw or noticed due to hushed releases. If you really wanna play rpgs you have to crawl from the safety of S.E's camp and try some other lesser known titles as well as lots from when S.E were on SNES a lot.

Try these if you can:
Shin Megami Tensei series:
Persona on PS1 (U.S/Jap
Persona 2 Eternal Punishment (U.S/Jap

Also try the recent PS2 versions of SMT, Digital

Konami's Suikoden series from 1 - 4

Tactics Orge: Knight of Lodis Atlus (GBA U.S

Enough about them anyway. I don't really have a best game but I'll give you a dose a few of what I like.

Legend of Zelda: OoT (N64
Goldeneye (N64
Blast Corps (N64
Area 88 (SNES
Pilotwings (SNES and N64
Assault Suits Valken (SNES
Chrono Trigger (SNES
Terranigma (SNES
Illusion of Gaia (SNES
Actraiser (SNES
Last Blade (DC
Last Blade 2 (DC
Marvel vs Capcom 2 (DC
Streets of Rage 2 (MD
Revenge of Shinobi (MD
Thunderforce IV (MD
Snatcher (MCD/PS1
SF Alpha 2 (PS1
Castlevania SotN (PS1

Lots more besides but that's all for now.

Legend of Zelda The Ocarina Of Time
Super Mario 64
Street Fighter 2 The World Warrior

Three amazing, incredibly innovative games that really pushed the boundaries.

I remember the first time i picked up that N64 controller and ran that chubby little plumber round in circles, THAT was a Next Generation gaming experience.

Long Live Nintendo! let the mainstream hordes scramble for their Xbox 360's. We will sit back and wait for the Revolution to come.

Just my quick input on best RPG.

Fallout.

Of course, it isn't really a console game, but it really gives a pants-down spanking to most other RPGs.

On the realm of consoles, I'm a NES and Genesis fan. For some reason, SNES was nonexistant in my neighborhood growing up. Best games on the systems? wow, there just seem to be a lot more than there are today...makes me wish they hadn't bit the dust. If I had the money, I would probably be doing the Ebay thing for those two.

anyone who thinks FF7 is the best game of all time,is wrong.its not.it might have been years ago,and for its time,it was great, but now there is too many alternatives that surpass it.i played it on my ps1,got bored of the clunky graphics and dated gameplay.

I would say that Tales of symphonia is a better RPG then FF7 just because it has an actual real-time battle system (and a good one to boot to).

Agreed, to an extent. Real time is usually better than turn based, especially how FF7 just pooped on the whole RPG game mechanics, in my opinion, but not only because of using turn-based (or similar) rules.

Again, I'll praise Fallout for its turn-based combat system, which gave players a lot of choices, forcing you to think strategically - rather than "fight a fire guy with Ice spells" strategy - such as "There's a huge guy with a minigun that I can't kill in one shot. If I target his arms with a rifle, I may force him to drop that weapon. Or, I could target his eyes so he can't make the ranged shots as easy. Maybe shooting out his legs is best. Or maybe I should just get the hell out of the way."

ToS has the best, in my opinion, combat system of the modern console RPGs. Is it good? yes. Could it be better? definately. FF7, in my opinion, set gameplay mechanics back years. only now are we beginning to get back into the idea that RPGs are GAMES, and not movies that you have limited interaction with.

Super Mario 64
Zelda OoT

There seems to be much agreement about the above games
here are a few more that are my personal classics.

Prince of Persia
Tetris (GB)
Civilization (PC)
Ultima Underworld II (PC)
Monkey Island II (PC)
Doom (PC)
Tie Fighter (PC)
Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II (PC)
Saturn Bomberman (SEGA Saturn) :P
Diablo (PC)
Quake (PC)
Red Alert (PC)
StarCraft (PC)
Tomb Raider
Metal Gear Solid (PS)
Half-Life (PC)
ICO (PS2)
Advance Wars (GBA)

Lot's of PC titles there, mainly because the PC was where all my college gaming hours were lost, many in multiplayer sessions of some of these games.

Hard to choose a fave platform, I'll say SNES for nostalgia's sake.

I think Outrun deserves a mention - that was a truly great game in my opinion, mainly due to the fact that it was the first game I played.

It looked great, had simplistic gameplay and the soundtracks were great.

TFC, just because i spent soooooo many hours on it and also because it's the best team-based FPS to date.
2 good teams and you'll have the most action packed gamingsession of your life!
