For some reason the controller reminds me of a sattelite dish universal remote, don't know why but other than that it seems like a pretty interesting set of photos. I would think it to be legit but you never know.
For some reason the controller reminds me of a sattelite dish universal remote.
Don't you realise that's the whole point? The Xbox 360 is intended to be the convergence of different multimedia boxes in your living (ironic name there) room.
It's funny, they realized the universal slots on top of the original controllers were useless, moved the headset plug to the bottom (with a possibility of extra control assumed by the extra data connections on the left and right of the headset jack) and it's STILL big! Also the design could of been reworked ALOT more. It's no fricken Sony controller that was awesome to begin with.
It looks to me from that picture to be just chunkier than the Saturn pad, which is a good shape and size IMHO.
I like this very finalised looking design, and I would because I've always hated PS pads. They give me cramp, and I have no circulatory or joint problems. My hands fall nice and naturally over the Controller S, so this looks like it will be even more comfy...
EDIT: The top 2 pics only just loaded (stupid new Firefox version loading pics late) and yeah, that remote is definately based around the standardised Digital TV remote as comes with Sky, Telewest and Freeview. That says it all right there, doesn't it?
The top pic is the most intriguing; the next headset looks nice, and that camera look like a Philips one (like the ToUcam) and is nice and chunky. Looks like it's war on every conceived front...

the ports on either side of the head set jack are intriguing... the srot fo thing you see on most new cd/mp3 players so you can have in cable controls and keep the unit in your pocket... but i cant figure out what sort of weird data transfer needs to happen via the head set... unless it reacts to your thoughts!!! dun dun dun... heh.
also... whats with you and the huge thing? i dont know what sort of weird sony propoganda youve been fed but smaller is not necesairily better... no matter what your mom tells you, ohhhhhhh :P ________
ROFL. As long as it looks nice and fits well with my entertainment center than thats what I'm looking for. I wonder though what is going to really be different than what the Xbox can do. I mean they need to make it stand out there has to be something that will make me choose to buy it when it comes out otherwise I'll just wait. Heck, if they added some audio and video input/output jacks on the back that would be great! Sad part is I have way too many cords connected to my powerstrips. Someone needs to invent a powercord that seperates into like ten different universal plugs to connect to all this freaking technology!

We keep hearing that the controllers are going to be wireless. There are no inputs from what I can see on the face of the system. Does anyone know how the controllers will work. Will M$ be incorporating blue tooth or will the controllers be crappy infrared? As we all know the infrared sucks online.
Hmmmm... Xbox360 looks a little bit too like PS2 for it's own ggood. Sony should start sharpening their lawyers for a patent case. Or will Sony just be flattered. Reall y has to be said thhat the whole unoriginal design makes it look so rush out of the door. It may sway some to it though, even in japan where they have less household space.
The controller is supposed to be rechargeable from what I hear though I could be wrong. If it's like Controller S that's good but the XboxLive button in the middle (which connects you to Xboxlive account when pressed) should be smaller and more concave. It will only take a beat em up marathon of frantic fingers to have pressing it accidentally spoiling your gaming.
MS have played their hand early but that just means Sony and Nintendo will more than likely steal E3 now.
I am not sure if these are the finalised specs, most likely specs will change but all i know is that the way consoles are made is that they optimize things to run smooth, its not about the size of it its how you use it hahahahah sorry sounds kinda funny now that i reread it. so the answer is that it most likely will pull from the main memory.
will the controllers have a rumble feature? if you remember nintendo's reasoning for pulling it from their wavebird controller was that it would need to recieve as well as transmit signals. and am I the only person in the world who likes having a wire on their controller?
