They're selling them for £40, or even better the Donkey Konga bundle for £60!
Needless to say I've just ordered the bundle, and the fact I just talked myself out of buying one when they dropped to £80 makes it all the more sweet.
This has to be the happiest day of my life!
Ok then, Mario Sunshine & LOZ:WW are a given. Don't think I'll bother getting both Metroids, so can someone who's played both make a recommendation? Eternal Darkness, F-Zero, Paper Mario, Pikmin 2, Tales Of Symphonia, Viewtiful Joe 2, Super Monkey Ball 2, Ikaruga must all be considered. Have I missed any?
I'd be worried, this is the first sign of the dumping procedure that will see GameCube no longer for sale.
Next it will be the supermarkets, other non-gaming stores, then Game, Gamestation and finally the indies.
Next thing you know, there will be no GameCubes being sold and the games will dive in price until they are stripped from the shelves in favour of DS and PSP.
Tales Of Symphonia - My favourite game of the current generation. Pure class, magical, excellent, perfect, amazing. Get it.
Metorid Prime - This is an excellent game and well worth the £17 on Player's Choice. I think it would be a mistake not to purchase it now you've got a Cube. This game plays like the original 2D Metroids and isn't a no-brained shooter. Out of the two, the first is more like the 2D versions and has a much better storyline and more exploration. I prefer it to Prime 2.
You also might like to get:
Resident Evil 0 - Best Resi game so far.
Super Smash Bros Melee - Best mutiplayer action.
I wouldn't bother with: Eternal Darkness, F-Zero, Paper Mario

I'd recommend all of those save for Paper Mario, Pikmin 2 and Viewtiful Joe 2 having not played them (though I've heard good things about all three, and can vouch for the original Pikmin and VJ).
Things to be aware of: F-Zero GX is great, but don't get your hopes up trying to find an AX machine to use. Ikaruga is rock-hard, and isn't to everybody's tastes (though I love it). Super Monkey Ball 2 is great, but the first is cheap and the main game seems to be generally thought of as better. Mario Sunshine is a lot of fun, but don't expect to "feel the revolution" as some did when playing Mario 64.
It's a great machine, with a lot going for it. As you're not buying it for it's future prospects, you're making a wise choice! There's still a little more left to look forward to - I'm personally waiting for Resident Evil 4 myself. And of course, there's always import loveliness for those with the Freeloader disc...

When I first saw pictures of that (in Edge I think), I thought it was the usual CGI/Replay b******s that developers always release to the public first. Obviously, it has since become evident the game really does look that great. And apparently the gameplay's no Driv3r either. Can't wait.
So you got yourself a cheap gamecube. I keep seeing one game in the shops that well, it makes me sad. Eternal Darkness! for me, the best game I have on the gamecube. and it's 7 quid!! a far better game than most people deserve
