Elebits - Konami's First Revolution Title
Weekly Japanese gaming bible Famitsu has just published the first details on Konami's first Revolution game, with the intriguing title Elebits. Shingo Mukaitouge, he of Guitar Freaks and Drum Mania fame, is serving as producer.

The game works like this: players move around a game world, attempting to find and collect small, cute, Pikmin-like Elebit creatures. The ‘Ele’ apparently stands for Electricity and the ‘bit’ refers to the tiny, wee characters. As you collect the Elebits - or, as the magazine seems to suggest, hunt them - the game world gradually evolves.

In an interview with Famitsu, Mukaitouge outlined that the game design was based on three basic ideas: letting the player feel like they're actually touching the inside of the screen; finding stuff by moving things; and on the creation of the new Elebits characters.

It’s not hard to see how the Revolution's controller is going to be used to find and move things, giving the player the feeling that they are ‘inside’ the screen. SPOnG is hoping that it will get a hands-on with the title at E3. We’ve just spoken to our contacts at Konami in the UK, and we’ll be sure to bring you further details on the game as soon as they are allowed to divulge them.
