Midway has just released a demo of its forthcoming Roman Empire-era RTS Rise & Fall: Civilizations at War. The 420MB demo gives you the opportunity to take control of the Egyptian army as they battle the Roman empire in this innovative-sounding title.
Rise and Fall: Civilizations at War is being developed by Stainless Steel Studios (based in Cambridge, MA) and is a historical, real-time strategy game that is scheduled to ship this June. The game lets players completely command one of the four mightiest empires of the ancient world: Greece, Rome, Egypt, and Persia.
Rise & Fall also allows players to fight alongside their troops during climactic battles, playing (in third-person mode) as one of history's eight greatest heroes, including Julius Caesar, Germanicus Caesar, Cleopatra, Ramses the Great, Achilles and Alexander the Great, each with special abilities and weapons.
In this demo – which you can grab from the game’s official website, you get to control the sexy but deadly Cleopatra as she leads her army of Egyptians across the Nile. SPOnG presumes that Cleo’s lads will not be doing the daft ‘Egyptian-style’ walk popularised by the Bangles back in the ‘80s.
