The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion entered the UK all-formats chart at number one this week, as surprising a sales sheet as you're likely to read as the sleeper his from Bethesda Soft beats Electronic Arts' massively-publicised Godfather game to the top of the heap.
The Godfather did manage a number two entry (a pun that simply never gets less funny) though the 2K Games/Take 2 RPG dominated sales at most retailers, selling out across the UK with consumer demanding outstripping everyone expectations.
Atari's Driver: Parallel Lines gets a slight shot in the arm following last week's release of the Xbox version, but only enough to nudge it up from eight to seven. Disappointing performance this week from Team17's PSP and DS "perfect-for-handheld" title, Worms: Open Warfare, which places at a lacklustre 16. Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer Management, however, performed marginally better, placing at 12.
