Its all good solid SEGA news today, something which always brings a smile to SPOnG’s face on a drizzly Monday.
First up, we have the announcement that the new OutRun 2006: Coast to Coast website is up and live at - yes, you guessed it - Outrun2006.com with enough assets and downloads and OutRun goodness to keep you hanging in there until you finally get a hold of the game when it releases on March 31 for Xbox, PSP, PlayStation 2 and PC. Its going to be a SEGA Easter. Yay!
The other reason to visit the OutRun website is to take part in a competition to win an OutRun2 SP Arcade Machine. Delivered to your door (if you win, and on the proviso that you live in Europe) all you have to do to win this piece of arcade history is send in your OutRun 'mugshot' – thinking G-force, wind, speed, adrenaline, blue Cali skies and thinking big fat SEGA grin.
The second bit of interesting SEGA news today is that the Japanese videogame giant has registered a trademark with the US Patent and Trademark Office for a new videogame on consoles, PC, handheld and mobile phones called Yakuza (that's the Japanese mafia, for those of you who should really know better).
SPOnG will be chasing up all of our contacts at SEGA to find out more about Yakuza. Watch this space.
