Details on Revolution Zelda, Smash Bros, Konga? No.

Another bottom-feeder frenzy goes awry

You've probably read reports over the weekend explaining how lots of details on previously unannounced Revolution games sneaked out via a National Geographic Kids article – including gameplay details for Zelda, Smash Bros and Donkey Konga amongst others.

We especially liked NinBit's reportage, who explained that since NGK had “...gotten this straight from the Big N, it must be 100% true.” Quite.

Speaking to SPOnG today, a Nintendo spokesman crushed the chatter explaining, “What [National Geographic Kids] has done is imagine how existing franchises would work with the Revolution controller, rather than actually seeing anything. It's all speculation.”

It has to be said, National Geographic did conjure some some interesting speculation; using controllers as drumsticks in Donkey Konga, multiple contollers acting as sword and shield in Zelda certainly whetted our appetite for the Revolution, likely to be the most interesting thing to happen to games since the DS.

That's a bit harsh

I played on a DS the other day for the first time :) Stole my Cousins kids one and had a play about on Nintendogs, normally don't like these types of games. But I was throwing about a ball for the little thing and then got the bubble blower out couldn't work it at first was trying to use the stylus but then blew on the screen and bubbles came out :) was very impressed.

Had to give it back then, but I'm quite tempted to buy one for Mario Kart... but I'm supposed to be trying to save money :(
