Ubisoft chief Yves Guillemot has made some interesting comments to the BBC, sharing his views on expected launch dates of both Sony's PlayStation 3 and Nintendo's Revolution – and the picture he paints isn't that thrilling for the PAL territory.

"We think September could be the right time for Sony in the US and November in Europe", said Guillemot, "Japan a bit earlier, say June or July." This guess falls in line with current specualtion that points to Sony missing its pledged spring 2006 debut - not the news gamers were hoping for.

However, Guillemot's predictions for the Revolution roll-out have been seen as way off by most analysts. According to the BBC piece, Guillemot “...expects Nintendo to aim for a similar launch date in the US and Japan, but fears that Europe might have to wait for the Revolution until early 2007.”

Expect E3 to deliver the final answer on both issues.

Why it would "have" to take Nintendo longer for a global rollout is beyond me. The hardware is cheaper and easier to manufacture, and I think they know how important it is to not screw the European gamer this time. It wouldn't cost Nintendo a lot more to get more production plants to build Revolutions before the end of the year. It would definitely help them if their market share in Europe doesn't decrease, and you can avoid that by launching in an adequate timeframe.

Bah, anything that guy says is in direct violation of a whole bunch of NDA's Sony and especially Nintendo have that guy's company under wraps. What he says is complete b******s... if he was saying the truth he would have his pants sued off allready...twice!

There are even rumors the revolution hardware is ready and is allready in mass-production... just think of it... Nintendo saying at it's pre-e3 press conference "and the revolution will launch...tomorrow!!"
