Kessen 3 is an X-release for Microsoft

Kessen is a real-time strategy game from Koei based around feudal Japan. Kessen actually means “decisive battle” and that accurately describes the theme of the game. In Kessen you assume the role of general taking his army to war. At this time in Japan’s history the country was divided and war was common. Many attempts were made to unify the country and much blood was spilled. In Kessen after you have made your tactics the camera swoops into the thick of battle where over a hundred characters could be fighting at the same time.

Kessen 3 originally showed up in the list of games planned for the Xbox, but now Koei has stated that it doesn’t have any intentions of releasing the game on that console. No reasons have been given at this time, but rumours suggest some sort of exclusivity deal. We contacted Koei for a comment but they couldn’t supply us with one for legal reasons. We’ll have to wait and see what happens with this Japanese real-time strategy game.
