Final Fantasy XII – New Screens and Release Date
PlayStation 2 swansong proper – Square prepares a classic.
Square Enix has dropped a few fresh grabs lifted from the development kit currently hosting Final Fantasy XII for PlayStation 2, and perhaps any talk of 'Game of the Generation' can be put on hold for a month or two.
The RPG monster looks to have made good on its promise of delivering the most accomplished title ever for PlayStation 2, showing a level of detail and graphical splendour to rival much of what the Xbox 360 currently touts.
The images, courtesy of our friends at GPara illustrate yet another bound forward in quality for the still-mysterious 12th Final Fantasy outing, a true FF RPG with as-yet undisclosed online elements.
Square Enix also deemed fit to date the game, announcing a Japanese release date of March 16. Somewhat unnervingly, no date for Europe or the US is currently inked into release schedules, though brief chats with the SE public relations chaps indicate we won't be disappointed.
