Stuntman Sequel for PlayStation 3

Stuntman received mixed reviews across the board upon its original release. It also divided SPOnG’s writing staff – there were some who argued that it delivered what it aimed to deliver – a fun smash ‘em up in a car. There were others who asserted the game had more flaws than was in any way acceptable. The game relied on repeated trial and error – there was almost no way of succeeding through intuition or skill. It stank of filler – as Reflections busied itself with the controversial DRIV3R, it knocked out Stuntman almost on a whim. Then there was the simple fact that the game was a direct rip off of Taito’s Stunt Typhoon.

Back to the point, it has been revealed that a new game, currently known as Stuntman Sequel is in the works and will be published by Atari. The developer is unknown, though one has to assume that the original team will again take charge of the development kits, this time focusing on a PlayStation 3 exclusive. No further details are available at time of going to press.

Stuntman was the beginning of a somewhat tempestuous phase for Reflections. The fact that its sequel makes the news is testament to the fact that it made more of an impression than the core game might have expected…
