New Super Monkey Ball. For Nintendo DS. Playable at TGS
Sega Japan has let slip that it’s currently underway with Super Monkey Ball for the Nintendo DS, some of the best news we’ve heard all year.

The game makes full use of the stylus input, with the Monkey Ball game world tipped and rotated via the touch panel, likely making for the most precise, dare we say enjoyable Monkey Ball outing to date.

It is unclear at time of press whether the as-yet untitled Monkey Ball DS is an all-new title or a rework of Super Monkey Balls one and two. We can confirm that it will be released in Japan in December though, and will be playable at Tokyo Game Show – so check back then for hands-on details.

Excited about this year’s TGS? Let us know what you’re looking forward to and why in the forums!

I'm gettin' this. Hopefully single player will be more like SMB1 than SMB2. And who knows? Maybe online multiplayer? Would be cool!

Now, imagine Monkey Target with 16 people all swooping at the same target...

You know what would be sinister?

If it used that new rumble option pack to give you turbulence.

Best news of the day and a game that is so suitable for the DS. Indeed, it's the monkey multiplayer that will rock the most.

A game of Monkey Punch, anyone?

Wow, I honestly didn't think they would do one for DS. I know they did a GBA version, but, you know, I think it wasn't that good.

SMB on the gameboy was alright.

it will probaly be a decent game but there are so many others coming out that i will most likely get over SMB.
