Tekken Advance looks to be on thin ice
Following Nintendo Power magazine’s recent claims that Tekken would appear on the upcoming Game Boy Advance the title looked a dead cert.
It would be difficult to imagine Nintendo of America’s official magazine playing out of step with the notoriously well organised games giant.
You may be aware that Tekken is, aside from a WonderSwan license, a PlayStation only franchise. Now let’s have a think for a minute. At present everyone is wondering why, following this bold announcement from Nintendo Power, everyone at both Nintendo and Namco is refusing to comment. The Game Boy Advance is a handheld console. So is the WonderSwan. It is likely that Bandai has exclusive rights to publish handheld versions of Tekken and, considering the company has just launched a new portable, want to keep these rights. No one at either Nintendo or Namco were willing to comment at this stage.
