NEW Revolution Images!!!
New revolution images "leaked"!! From a friend of mine at an ad firm that has a nintendo contract! These are all legit, the real deal, no half assed photoshop mock up...see for yourself...These were made for internal use only (or were they? maybe its nintendo's answer to ourcolony.net...), for the nintendo big wigs, a sampler for future ad campaigns...no controller shot, nintendo aren't letting anyone look at that yet...but anyway, several interesting new tidbits :
1. the name "revo"...its very nearly official...Nintendo is very keen on it, but my friend tells me that name is already trademarked by an italian firm, but nintendo are in talks with them to make use of the name anyway...
2. Does the logo seem familiar? Yes, its the same one leaked a couple of months back in those revolution concept logo papers you may remember...
3. As you can see, the revo has been redesigned slightly, is a wee bit slimmer (can you tell?), has toned down the super ultra glossy finish (which got scratched too easily), and has the logo engraved on its side...
4. A complete turnaround for Nintendo's ad campaign for the revo...aggressive, edgy, dark, mature, an emphasis on change...plenty of fighting talk too...:)...nintendo truly comes of age... Its full steam ahead on the revolution development - its been barely a month since E3, and already they've done this redesign, if you can call it that...one thing no one really knows is when it will launch...well I can tell you it will be sooner than anyone expects...nintendo do not want to be the last one out with their machine, or at least not too late...they will not disclose a launch date, so as not to hurt current gen sales, as well as to catch the competition unawares...but it is coming sooner than you think...

Just got to look at the images, if you still can't see them clear out your caches.
Kind of interesting, there's a couple of bits that make me think someone who knows how ad people think is involved in these images. Are they genuine? Unlikely, but don't hold me to it. The last console image is particularly suspect, the "R" logo seems too square on to the camera when compared to the angle of the system.

These are the best ones yet. Seriously.
The "Game Revo" poster is quite unrealistic - you wouldn't put the first part of red text there - it's not clear enough. It's also very un-Nintendo like to address "the competition".
However they all show vision, and the logo/Revo name are possible.
Personally, I think Nintendo should stick with Revolution which will naturally be shortened by people to Revo. Plus, I believe, Psion own the UK trademark on Revo.

I still don't know why people rely on that horrid Revo logo. I mean it's disgusting. And is it supposed to mean something?
All Nintendo's console logos since the SNES have tried to represent a specific feature of the console. The SNES one had the four action buttons, the N64 was 4 extruded N's stuck together and the GCN was a G with a cube in the center. PERFECT LOGOS.
This one sucks. So does the name. LONG LIVE NINTENDO RS *gunned down*

Stop clutching at straws. The thing look authentic enough to me, some people doubt the 360 name when Spong first sprung it too. We'll see if it's fake or not in time.
If the official name is Revo I can live with that, nice short and sweet. One thing I do love about the console design is that cool Knight Rider style blue light (if it move from side to side when that would totally kick arse too, wishful pipedream thinking).
The Revo logo I do faintly recall and it's a little more down to earth but noticeable amongst the crowd.
I hope the ad campaign is more agressive because it's do or die in the coming round. The SP/DS ad campaigns have seen an improvement stateside but not really this side of the pond except in the printed media.
That controller should be interesting. Can hardly wait.

defintely fake.i know these things.i have a feeling about it.i mean the italian "company" who nintendo are in talks with just so happens to be the 1st google search.the person who has made this up searched for revo on google amd incorperated that into this FAKE email

Would it say "For Internal Use Only" like it does? I kinda hope it doesn't have the name Revo, but that's not a big deal. The logo is....meh. Not up to par is a good way to descibe my feeling for it. Not terrible, but compared the Nintendo's other logos, like someone mentioned, not very good.

while reading the story I was thinking the same thing and then thinking if that was the logo, what does it say about the controller?
Kind of like a Rorschach test for spong readers
(looks like a whip to me but I'll play it safe and say it looks like a butterfly incase people think me to be a headcase)

Thanks, but we weren't the first to suggest the Xbox 360 name. However, we were the first to confirm it as a strong contender (rather than pure rumour) following a rather leaky focus group exercise.
Anyway, back to Revo...
Following suggestions that past logos have represented to key elements of the consoles function or brand, I mused over the Revo "R" depicted in these mock-ups.
They look like a pair of legs to me.
Next thought being that the top secret Revo controller will be used by the feet, not the hands.
Then I realised I wrong I was. Here's the true basis of the logo, and these mock-ups...

The images probably are fake, the console seems to have been made in a CAD program. The R logo is indeed disgusting and Revo sounds like some trashy american chocolate bar. Nice try but very much fake.

Plus, didn't Psion call a machine Revo? And you don't want to be associated with Psion, or indeed paying them money. They're bitter, bitter people.

That's what I said earlier ;).
I never really understood Psion. Technologix (or whatever its name was) never really took off, they're still selling NetBooks and other people's PDAs but discontinued the Series series - they sell for a lot of cash on eBay. At least EPOC lives on - in many mobile phones.
Psion would sue Nintendo too. Bitter's a good word. If they call it Revolution it will naturally be shortened to Revo or Rev.
