Sony Computer Entertainment Japan has released a bucketload of fresh grabs from Shadow of the Colossus, the spiritual successor to the acclaimed, if somewhat overrated ICO, for the PlayStation 2.
And as rumours of a PSP version of both games gather pace, SPOnG has to say that Wanda does now represent perhaps the most interesting of games in development for the current generation of machines.
From the information snippets we've pieced together that have been released so far, the game’s protagonist must enter various giant mechanical monsters, reach their brains and take them out of action. As you can see by the screens, it looks like all that work dragging around the white mute girl was for nothing, given that she’s clearly conked out and laid to rest.
What’s the likelihood that via the magic of beating up giant mechanical monsters, you can bring her back to life? Yes, it is rather high isn’t it?
At time of going to press, Shadow of the Colossus is slated for a release in all territories, and is likely to be used as an Xbox 360 launch spoiler - along with a whole load of other games - by Sony this autumn. As soon as we have concrete information, we’ll let you know.
