Nintendo Japan has unveiled a surprise bonus for early-adopters of its
Play-Yan media player for Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS in the shape of freely-downloadable minigames knows as Nintendo Garage Games.
The titles are distributed via the Play-Yan website for free, with a new game being offered every Friday. To date, twelve titles are planned, with a thirteenth bonus game available to members of Club Nintendo.
The first offering is Insect, a d-pad only affair that sees a small ladybird-style mini-beast guided up a tree, avoiding other less-friendly microcritters. The game takes up only a fraction of the screen, presumably to idle away time while listening to music or watching movies.
The next game, Bat, appears to be a clone of
that Penguin Game and will be available for download this Friday.
