In spite of the PS2 shortages that hit the UK over the Christmas period, causing Sony to lose millions in hardware and software sales, the company has lifted its spirits, announcing that some 80 million consoles have now been shipped worldwide.
The company also made clear its intentions to dominate the market for yet another year, forecasting further shipments up to 5.8 million units before the end of March 2005. At present the total installed userbase of PS2 is expected to surpass that of the 100 million-selling PSone.
That is all.
