Fans rejoice as big new Nintendo rumour emerges!
And it’s not even a very good one…
The Internet has stumped up a fresh, of somewhat bland rumour foretelling of a large and significant spoiler announcement planned over at Nintendo of America.
According to several reports, seemingly stemming from the aftermath of Nintendo president Satoru Iwata’s address to foreign press earlier this week, NOA has a surprise announcement slated in for the end of March, the predicted US launch window for Sony’s inaugural handheld, the PSP.
Though exactly what it will announce is somewhat unclear. SPOnG is aware of several new Game Boy products at various stages of R&D at Nintendo, though it is almost certainly not related to these.
Perhaps the only thing that could successfully steal the PSP’s thunder would be a glimpse of the Revolution, Nintendo’s next home console.
Surely not…
Speaking to a Nintendo official this morning, we were told, “There is almost certainly significant Nintendo activity planned for that period – This is the nature of the business.”

Hopefully its a media player for the DS. Similar to the unofficial GBA movie player. Although I have a feeling I'm going to be letdown.

I hope this is something interesting from Nintendo - like a new franchise, prehaps.
If it is the Revolution or a new Gameboy, let us pray they do not demo it with some flavour of Mario, Metroid or Zelda.
In fact, it could just be a Zelda release date. Who else is betting on it being some poor recycled franchise money-spinner?
