Capcom Japan has released the first batch of screenshots grabbed from the PSP rework of the beloved 2D fighter Vampire Chronicles, the arcade and Saturn classic that spawned some of the better known ‘not from Street Fighter’ characters.
Well one anyway. Morigan. And perhaps Felicia too. But that’s about it.
The original Vampire Saviour, although unquestionably a technical achievement, suffered from poor distribution outside of Japan and, as with so much quality software, found it impossible to penetrate the mainstream from the ill-fated Sega platform.
The PlayStation Portable version promises Wi-Fi multiplayer gaming, as well as a dedicated story mode and a coffin load of additional backgrounds, costumes and other unlockables.
Available in Japan at launch with the PSP, expect US and European announcements to follow.
