Nintendo enlists another old favourite to DS cause - Touch! Kirby revealed

Kirby and a stylus powered magic paintbrush

Posted by Staff
After getting the head start on the hardware front, this week Nintendo has little option but to sit back and watch the whole world start wittering about possible PSP functions and games. But as it does so, there’s still an interesting trickle of DS related information coursing through the internet. And after outlining its Q1 2005 activity yesterday, and revealing Super Princess Peach and her umbrella powered 2D scrolling action adventure, comes news of another first party DS title.

This one features everyone’s spherical pink videogame character – Kirby. The approximate translation of the Japanese title is Touch! Kirby and The Magic Paintbrush. It seems quite likely that, in this instance, the DS’s stylus will represent a paintbrush (probably a magic one).

Unfortunately, there’s nothing more to go on now, but the steady stream of first party titles for the DS is sure to reinforce its wider market appeal. As soon as we can unearth more information, particularly with regards to the just announced Kirby and peach games, we’ll get straight back to you.

Never thought of the stylus being used as a paintbrush like Mario Paint kind of thing. This could prove another interesting development for other potential drawing and art games. This Kirby game might be a Mario Paint type successor perhaps.

Perhap a DS art package would be a nice option for all to draw with, a version of Photoshop or Illustrator would be very cool somewhere done the line. Are you listening Adobe?

Still nice to know there's stuff DS can do that PSP can't.

I hope this is like "Poster Paster" for the C64! That game rocked.

Still it seems a small announce after Sony's PSP onslaught this week.
