Halo 2 Live Starter Kit to stimulate online action?

Halo 2 Live Starter Kit to stimulate online action?
After recent boasting of the Xbox’s supremacy in Singapore, and the relatively swift uptake of Xbox Live in Asian territory, Microsoft has announced a new Live orientated package for Europe. With Halo 2 expected to be the biggest selling Xbox title yet, it’s no surprise to see this PAL initiative take full advantage of the killer app sequel and its tempting online multiplayer options.

And so what we see is the Xbox Halo 2 Live Starter Kit – hitting shelves on November 11th for the price of £59.99. For that, you’ll get a one year subscription to Xbox Live, a voice communicator and, of course, a copy of Halo 2. It’s also a limited edition, apparently; although the components of the bundle won’t be collector’s items. Indeed, the headset that comes with this isn’t even the special Halo 2 headset.

It will certainly be interesting to see what kind of impact Halo 2 has on Live subscriptions: for many, it will be the single biggest reason to get their Microsoft consoles online. Not long to go now...

The inclusion of the Non-Halo headset is just cock, isn't it?

That's not a rhetorical question.

I don't have an Xbox, and it would take more than Halo 2 to make me buy one. But if I did, I think I'd want Halo 2 written on every piece of the tat that Micrsoft bundle in the kit. After all they are only releaseing it so that IF I bought it, they could add me to the Xbox live world domination figures, even though I never logged into the thing apart from once out of curiosity.

Seeing as the branded headset will retail for a lot higher (it is, after all, a very cool and hard-wearing better version) i'm not surprised. After all, this is the same as they've done tons of times. As for it being "tat", at least they give you a headset. Sony would make you pay for the line if they could.

And, by the way, why bother posting? Your post, to most people, reads like this:

"I hate the xbox. This sucks. Nobody listen to me".

Now, for someone who IS interested, they've probably already got Live. After all, it's a fantastic service, and makes the Sony offering a bit of a damp squib. Halo 2 is an even bigger draw: this game is to console FPSs what unreal tournament is for PCs. So, the bundle makes sense. The lack of Halo-branded gear makes absolute sense, because it's quite likely hardcore players will want to pay the extra for the better headset.

But extra stuff? Curiosity's peaked now... I mean, i have the limited ed tin on preorder, but i'm still intrigued...
